.... I just recently started my own company, Enterprise Machine Inc. in Orange County, CA. In the past I ran CNC lathes for another business. But it had been awhile since I ran that type of lathe so I knew I needed programming software help. Searching the internet I ran across several companie's software including CAD/CAM, but they were very expensive. I needed something much more cost effective. I would like to tell you that this software does a great job. I thought it would probably do 80% of the work and then I would have to spend an hour or so per conversion cleaning up the rest. It does 99.99% of the work and I spend 5 minutes or less checking for minor items. You have developed an excellent piece of software. I've been a customer of Travers Tools for at least 14 years ... I've received excellent service.

... I recently came across a company who's software I think you should carry in your catalog. For some time I was looking for software that that I could use to conversationally program. My current 10 x 54 CNC mill and a CNC lathe that I'm working on. Often times I wanted to run a part but didn't want to spend the time drawing the part and generating Gcode. I have several different cad/cam software packages that I use in my part time business as an engineer ...

Simply, I wanted to mount up some stock on the mill, answer a few questions and set the mill in motion to machine the part. "After a number of years of quoting jobs "by the seat of my pants", today's competitive business climate made it mandatory that we looked for a more productive, accurate and consistent method of working up quotes for potential jobs.

Pella Machine, Inc. is small CNC machine shop with 6 employees. It doesn't take a lot of jobs to bury us in work while at the same time it doesn't take a big slowdown to have us spending most of our time cleaning up instead of turning out parts. In a small shop it's always 'feast or famine'.

Quoting jobs is the life blood of a job shop. Doing it accurately and profitably is the trick. We looked at a number of quoting packages on the market today and found most to be overpriced, feature laden Goliaths. They were more than we wanted to pay and way more than we wanted to learn. After all, we are job shop with machinists who'd rather be making parts than becoming quoting software experts. In browsing around the web we found KentechInc.com and downloaded just the help file to get a look at the program. We subsequently purchased the program and have been using it ever since never looking back. First of all, we didn't have to apply for a second mortgage to get it and secondly, we didn't have to go to a 2 or 3 day seminar to learn how to use it. We loaded in just a couple of common material cost items and we set up our equipment in the machine file. It was pretty obvious that the programmer(s) know a lot about machining and machine shop operations. In just a couple of hours we were able to complete our first quote getting it printed out in a no nonsense, businesslike manner ready to present to our customer. As we continued to work with the program the value of the Cycletime Estimator became obvious. Again it is very intuitive and quick to use.

From the program launcher, calling up the various modules as needed is practically seamless. Rather than taking a 2 or 3 day seminar it just took a little practice and we were cranking out quotes like professional estimators. And yes, we've landed a number of jobs as a result of working up our quotes on KipwareQTE®. We were pleased to find that the program was right on target with the figures.

Would we recommend KipwareQTE®? You bet.....but then again maybe we shouldn't.....there's too much competition out there already, isn't there? Seriously though, to stay alive, you have to send out quotes. KipwareQTE® makes it simple, quick, professional, and inexpensive.
